Mindfulness

Breathing Space

23rd March 2022

When last did you create Breathing Space for yourself?

Have you noticed the buzz about mindfulness?

You may think that it is a good idea to be more present in your life and less judgemental and do more meditation and, and, and.

To be effective, mindfulness requires embodied engagement to derive some benefit from it.  It is a practice.  It is a way of being.

This is me; “I have so much to do.  This is just wasting time.”

The quality of your life, your relationships to others, and to the world you inhabit are at stake.  Your degree of wellbeing, mental balance, happiness, and integration in your life as it unfolds add to the ultimate quality of life.

We will guide you for eight weeks in a coherently structured program.

Can you imagine what will happen to acts of kindness and compassion towards yourself and others?

This inspiring program offers a real opportunity of a lifetime, and a chance to reclaim and befriend that ‘lifetime’ and live it more fully, moment by moment, by moment.

We wish for you to derive great benefit from engaging in this program and its invitation to explore how you might be in a wiser and more fulfilling relationship to your ‘one wild and precious life’.

Week One helps you to see the automatic pilot at work and encourages you to explore what happens when you engage with small events in your life.

Week Two uses a simple Body Scan meditation to help explore the difference between thinking about a sensation and experiencing it.

Week Three builds on the previous sessions with some non-strenuous Mindful Movement practices.

Week Four introduces a Sounds and Thoughts meditation that progressively reveals how you can be sucked unwittingly into ‘over-thinking’.

Week Five introduces to be faced with a spirit of openness, curiosity, and compassion.

Week Six develops cultivating friendship towards yourself, including for what you see as your ‘failures’ and ‘inadequacies’, is the cornerstone of finding peace in a frantic world.

Week Seven explores the close connection between our daily routines, activities, behavior, and moods.

Week Eight helps you to weave mindfulness into your daily life so that it’s always there when you need it the most.
